First phase of the “Our courtyard is our green home” project is finished!
With the efforts of the residents, from August 2023 to October 30, funds were collected for 22 plants and all related project costs. It was decided to plant lilacs, Amelanchiers (shadbush) and Viburnums firstly. On November 13, 14 lilacs, 4 Amelanchier × lamarckii and 4 plants of Viburnum opulus Nanum were planted in the courtyard.
A collection of Syringa vulgaris cultivars was created from the lilacs planned for planting. Residents of the houses were invited to become sponsors of the desired cultivar, and each sponsored lilac received a QR code with information about the patron.
At this stage, 14 cultivars were planted:

And while lilacs, Amelanchiers and viburnums are taking root and waiting for spring, the Flower Council of Ukraine and a group of active residents of the houses are preparing for the next stage of the project - planting arrays of different ornamental grasses in the spring.
